Often praised for her stunning beauty and charming humor, Stephanie Ortiz is
successfully carving a multifaceted career that promises to leave a permanent
mark in the industry. Hailing from Washington Heights, Ortiz began modeling at
15 landing campaigns with Levis, Benetton, Adidas, and appeared in numerous
magazines, as well as TV commercials. This amazing opportunity allowed
her to travel to Europe for runway and print. Her determination and hard work
eventually paid off, and at the age of 19 she landed a spot on Mun 2 as a co-host
on the popular television program, “The Roof.”
As her unforgettable smile and funny personality graced television screens
nationwide, Ortiz was honing her craft as an entertainment reporter. She
interviewed an array of successful celebrities and musicians and was soon asked
to star in the Sí TV production, “Styleyes.” As these television opportunities
highlighted her improvisational skills, industry makers quickly started to take
notice. In 2003, while she was developing her comedic career, doing stand-
up and sketch comedy; she was contacted by J-Love to join DJ Clark Kent,
Fonzworth Bently, and Andre Harell, as a comedic relief for a morning show pilot on
NYC’s Hot 97 FM. Owning a resume pouring with media experience, Ortiz was
soon offered the amazing opportunity to join La Kalle 105.9 FM radio team. She
also maintained a position as the main host for "American Latino TV" on My 9,
and "Vibe on Demand".
Currently Stephanie has been focusing her career in film, starring in films such
as The Grasslands, LES, The Love Potion, Night at the Opera, A Kiss of Chaos,
& Inside A Change. Most recently Inside a Change won Best Feature Film at
the HBO NY Latino Film Festival in 2009, and A Kiss of Chaos won the Best
Showcase Feature Film Award for U.S. at the 2010 Soho International Film
Festival. Stephanie has had the opportunity to work with Directors Max Perlich,
Danny Hastings, Chris Raffaele, Nemo Librizzi, Rik Cordero, & Ricardo Sean
Thompson. Ortiz looks at the road to success with simplicity and confidence.
As she continues to stay motivated and focused, Stephanie Ortiz is keeping her
dream of becoming a household name in motion.
